These guides are only released at least one day after the event has launched, because they are based on first-hand experience from testing and beating the fight with different team comps and strategies. And that takes a good amount of time!

Lufenia orb

  • Appears at battle start (count: 10)
  • Never disappears
  • Increases by +10 (limit: 10) when that boss takes HP damage from a debuff (at release, only Exdeath is able to do this).
  • Increases by +1 (limit: 10) when the player inflicts 2 or more debuffs in that turn (1 debuff on each enemy is enough).
  • Placing 2 debuffs will only freeze the orb in 1 action. This is a very tight orb to manage without ExDeath. Don’t hesitate to consider LD-less ExDeath as he will help to manage the orbs very efficiently
  • Exdeath call is essential for non-ExDeath team comps. If you are doing turn spamming attacks (involving Terra, Tidus, Tifa, Lightning), ExDeath BT friend is required. A 3-turn BT ExDeath is even better than none!

Boss Mechanics

  • One of the bosses will enter into Break Counter Stance (gains massive BRV and gains immunity to launch, yellow aura), which they activate for every 10 actions that your party takes. After the first one unleashes the HP attack, the second one will enter into the Break Counter Stance.
  • While they are in the Break Counter Stance, make sure you don’t break them or they will cleanse all debuffs and unleash Counter Light of Sanctions (a guaranteed hit attack. BRV Gain, HP attack, dispel all buffs, applies Curse & INT BRV Down 2T and heals its 5% of its HP).
    • Attacking them without breaking is important to avoid the counter. You can still damage them with splash HP damage skills or non-BRV hits attack (ExDeath, Porom, WoL’s S1). Off-turn damage also won’t trigger the counters.
  • The boss will use Revelation at 79% & Revelation+ at 49%. Both auras will give significant increase to DEF (200%-250%), BRV DMG Resistance and BRV Gain reduction for the party. The boss will use Piercing Spear+ (2x ST BRV+HP, INT BRV Up guaranteed hit)
  • Avoiding getting broken is important as the boss will trigger Drain HP attack whenever it breaks with one of the following skills: Magic Slug, Wild Spear, Light of Sanctions, Piercing Spear(+).
  • The boss key AOE HP attack is Radiant Shade (BRV Gain, AOE BRV+HP, DEF Up)
  • When you kill one of the bosses first, the surviving one will enrage with Seeking vengeance… (ATK, DEF & SPD Up)

Break Counter (Every 10 party actions)

  • For every 10 party actions, one of the bosses will enter into Break Counter mode. They gain yellow aura with massive BRV gain & immunity to launch. To dispel the aura, you need to let the boss take a turn.
  • After the boss with the Break Counter stance acts, the other boss will gain Break Counter aura.

Tips to avoid the Counter

  1. Use an attack that doesn’t deal BRV hits – e.g. ExDeath, WoL’s S1, Porom
  2. Attack the other Seraph with an HP attack that deals splash damage. That is why Terra’s Meltdown is perfect for this.
  3. Off-turn damage won’t trigger the counter (Yang’s follow-up, Noctis BT follow-up, CoD follow-up)
  4. They don’t counter when they are broken.
    • Use Calls to break the boss. The boss doesn’t counter Call attacks
    • Break them while in Summon
    • Break them while in BURST

Revelation at 79% and 49% & Piercing Spear+ follow-up

  • 79%: +200% DEF, BRV DMG Resist +40%, BRV Gain -20%
  • 49%: +250% DEF, BRV DMG Resist +50%, BRV Gain -30%
