These guides are only released at least one day after the event has launched, because they are based on first-hand experience from testing and beating the fight with different team comps and strategies. And that takes a good amount of time!

Lufenia orb

  • Appears at 79% HP (count: 15)
  • Never disappears
  • Increases by +10 (limit: 15) when that boss takes BRV damage from a debuff (like Sap, Poison and similar effects). Effects from some spheres like Faris or Thancred can also be used to increase the orb.

Boss Mechanics

Only the most impactful attacks will be shown. Check the compendium for details on other moves.

  • The main mechanic here is related to the color of the mask on each monk. They all start white, and will change color one step further (from white to yellow, from yellow to red, and then stay red) after every action they take.

  • They will move one step back (red to yellow, yellow to white) after receiving a Break (except from some counterattacks, because they happen before the mask change).

White mask only gives them BRV regen. You want to keep them in White as much as possible.

Yellow mask gives them HP regen (120k per turn) instead.

Red mask gives them BRV and HP regen (120k per turn) and also makes them inflict 3T :debuff_generic_framed: Diminishing Spirit (convert 40% BRV dealt to HP damage) with their attacks. When they change to red they will also inflict 5T :debuff_generic_framed: Bane (freeze BRV gains, BRV Damage dealt -30%, BRV Damage received +30%) on all your characters.

Fight phases

From 100% to 79% HP: No orb

  • Easy phase, can be used to set up buffs/debuffs/calls for when the orbs appear.

At 79% HP (on each): Orb [15] and Mask Change (all yellow)

  • Each boss that reaches 79% HP will self delay and cause all others to turn yellow. If you don’t bring them to 79% HP together, this will happen again when each boss crosses the threshold.

At 69% HP (on any of them): Light Blue Aura (shields)

  • All bosses will self delay and gain a >30k BRV shield that needs to be broken to avoid them using Vital Feed++ to dispel all your buffs.

At 49% (on each): Mask Change (all red)

  • Each boss that reaches 49% HP will self delay andcause all others to turn red, also triggering 5T :debuff_generic_framed: Bane on your team. If you don’t bring them to 49% HP together, this will happen again when each boss crosses the threshold.

At 29%HP (on any of them): Light Blue Aura (shields)

  • All bosses will self delay and gain a >30k BRV shield that needs to be broken to avoid them using Vital Feed++ to dispel all your buffs.

📝 Battle tips

  • Debuff evasion works wonders, and makes the fight infinitely easier. It allows you to ignore their mask changes as long as you can deal enough damage to outpace their 120k HP regen.
  • Having 6 framed buffs on your team works just as well as debuff evasion.
  • Debuff cleansing would be your third option, but not as good as the first two – except for Yuffie, who also throws the debuffs back at the enemies for big impact.
  • Be mindful of the bosses self-delaying at each HP threshold, because the enemies need to take turns to increase the orb counter. You can put yourself in an unwinnable position if you bring delayers or debuff their SPD too much.
  • They are not immune to Disabling effects, so units like Kefka or Arciela can shut them down.
  • Instant breakers are great to bring the mask colors back to white when needed.
  • If you lack re-breakers and need to change their mask colors, you can use AAs/free turn skills until they recover from Break naturally after 5 turns.
