Fight Overview

  • 12m HP
  • 30/40/50% Battery Tax, 70/75/80% Brv Damage Reduction
  • Absorbs Ice, but is naturally weak to Water and Fire.
  • Fully immune to all Launch and Delay (including via break) the whole fight
  • Lethally counters any melee attack that has NO HP attack. This means things like melee Brv+, or Lightning AA.

Lufenia Orb (if it reaches 0 = game over)
1st: Orb count: 20, disappears at 79%
2nd: Orb count: 20, appears at 49%, never disappears
Increase: by 7 when that boss takes :water: Water BRV damage (max: 20)

Counterplay: Bring Water damage. Mog, Rydia, Garnet, and Levi!Relm are the only viable orb checks, though you can potentially race the orb with Rydia CA and Leviathan

Boss Gimmicks

Recast

  • Done when bar is full and before you get a turn
  • Cleanses debuffs, dispels one buff from all allies, inflicts framed HP poison, and stabs you for good measure
  • Ignores brv damage reduction
  • Counterplay: Bring constant, powerful healing and debuff removal.
  • Alternatively, Yuffie can throw this debuff back onto the boss and you can just wait for it to die

Northern Cross

  • 79%, 49%, the usual
  • Next AoE, if not stunned, will Freeze your party a la Shiva recast
  • Lose a turn!
  • Counterplay: Prevent the boss from using this attack, or just battery to not die and prepare to lose a turn

Other stuff that happens

  • Brv damage reduction is ignored on basically everything
  • Can dispel one buff from all allies and inflict a debuff that delays you after your action a la Mucus Space
  • Almost every action deals extra damage to debuffed targets
  • The one basic brv attack inflicts 3 generic debuffs, which push off any generic buffs you might have.
  • Counterplay: Bring constant, powerful healing and debuff removal.
