* Cloud has his WoI weapon (Crimson Edge) passive – Deadly Rush (dispels upon critical hit)

Wave 1: Ifrit

BRV Attack :single: :magic: :fire: :brv: attack
Blazing Embers :single: :magic: :hp: attack (after increasing BRV if below INT BRV);
then increases BRV based on HP damage dealt
Conflagration :group: :magic: :fire: :brv: attack;
grants :buff_generic_framed: 5T INT BRV Up and :buff_generic_framed: 5T SPD Up to self
Flameclaw :single: :magic: :fire: :brv: attack;
high turn rate if breaking or attacking broken target
Rush :group: :melee: :brv: attack;
grants :buff_generic_framed: 5T ATK Up and :buff_generic: 1T MAX BRV Up to self
Hellfire
:recastbar:
Recast ability;
:group: :magic: :fire: :brv: attack + :group: :hp: attack;
applies Scorch to field (causes BRV damage every turn);
grants :buff_generic_framed: 10T DEF Up to self;
raises own ATK and DEF;
grants :buff_regen_framed: 5T Scorching Inferno (raises BRV by a certain amount) to self from second use onwards

The flames intensify: Raises ATK, DEF, SPD, INT BRV, MAX BRV (activates at 80% HP)
The flames further intensify: Raises ATK, DEF, SPD, INT BRV, MAX BRV even more (activates at 50% HP)
Resist Veil: Triggered when BRV reaches certain amount; nullifies HP damage; canceled when afflicted with Break

The Ifrit starts with Hellfire from turn zero. It will also apply Scorch to the field (drains BRV before your characters act). For its subsequent uses, it grants itself the Scorching Inferno (raises BRV by a certain amount) buff. The Ifrit can gain a Resist Veil (trigger when its BRV reaches a certain amount; nullifies HP damage; cancelled with afflicted with break) upon gaining above 30k BRV. Watch out for Blazing Embers (its ST target Fire HP attack). Other than that, the CHAOS fight is about taking the hits from Ifrit and countering it.

In total, the Ifrit can gain 6 buffs from its move set:

  • Hellfire – DEF Up (10T enframed), Scorching Inferno (5T enframed, raises BRV by a certain amount)
  • Conflagration – INT BRV Up, SPD Up (both 5T enframed)
  • Rush – ATK Up (5T enframed), MAX BRV Up (1T)

Since 5 of the 6 buffs are enframed, a dispeller (e.g. Vanille) or buff stealers (e.g. Balthier) are highly recommended. You will need burst healing since Ifrit will use Blazing Embers when it has accumulated sufficient BRV. You definitely need a tank to mitigate the BRV hits to avoid the Resist Veil gimmick (e.g. Celes).

If you don’t want to have anything do with the gimmicks, you can delay it to oblivion until it is dead (Leo, Vayne with Vanille’s sphere, or Aranea will work) The video link can be found here.

Rush

:group: :melee: :brv: attack;

If the unit has 6 framed buffs, the 7th buff won’t be applied even if its framed. Make use of this prevent Ifrit from buffing to much

Resist Veil

Triggered when BRV reaches certain amount; nullifies HP damage; canceled when afflicted with Break

The BRV gain threshold requires for the veil to be activated is estimated at 20k-30k after using its Flameclaw.

* My initial runs are too good that this did not get triggered, I bring my Yunie as a sacrifical lamb 😊
