The Call to Arms, well… “Call” update!

Dissidia Final Fantasy: Opera Omnia is a game that is constantly evolving, and the Call to Arms project needs to evolve along with it.

Call Assists have become more and more important to enable certain team comps, and this trend will be even stronger in the future. So the big objective of this update is to start tracking the Calls used by each character, and on the other hand, reduce the clutter by removing less important information and making the whole submission process easier and faster.

Summary of changes:

  • EX+ levels and LD/No LD fields have been removed: We are very far into the LD/BT era, and especially with character boards requiring max limit broken EX and LD weapons, we can just assume everyone is fully geared. If you DO have weapons missing (except BT, of course), you can mark the “Budget team” option at the end of the form and add a note mentioning what is missing.
  • Boosted characters and calls are highlighted: since we are not using colors to represent EX+ levels anymore, the characters with boosted status for that event are marked by a light blue background.
  • The “BT” field will appear for the first character only: It doesn’t matter if your full team is equipped with BTs. The “BT” option only cares about whether or not you used a Burst phase, so make sure to have your BT user in the 1st slot for the submission (regardless of where he was in your party). This will also make it much easier to spot BT or No-BT runs in the spreadsheet.
  • Each character will be followed by their Call Assist: Pretty straightforward. And if you used an LD-enabled Call Assist without their LD, you can mention that in the Notes section if relevant.
  • Score and Turn count fields have been removed: The main reason is to save space on the spreadsheet, and to make the submission form easier to use on mobile. I have received feedback for a long time that those fields were not very mobile-friendly, and one of the goals here was making the submission process as easy as possible. I am a little sad to see the turn count go, but it’s a price worth paying if it encourages more players to send their videos.
  • Written strategy field has been removed: but you can still put the link in the notes!
  • “Budget team” has been added: you can mark this checkbox in the Notes if your team is missing an LD or EX, or uses a 0/3 character, or is handicapped in other ways – especially helfpul if you are submitting a Challenge Quest run.

As a bonus, we can now track who are the most popular Call Assist choices for each event:
